Day & Time: Thursday 10:15-11:25
Mentor: Jessica Anglesey
Embark on a journey as we bring each book to life and create fun projects to go with each book. Whether we are learning from a young girl who teaches us the importance of forgiveness even when she’s been bullied and discriminated against constantly, or we’re learning from a silly, lovable woman all about relationships and problem solving, or an adventure from a boy receiving survival techniques and friendship from an unlikely source. If we have time we will also follow a character named Nick who challenges words and their meanings and how that affects him and his family. Be prepared to dive in with hands-on activities that will bring meaning, understanding, and fun to each literary work.
Students will identify and analyze elements of literature as they read The Hundred Dresses, Mrs. Piggle Wiggle, Sign of the Beaver, and Frindle. These books can be found at the library, and each student will need to have their own copy of the book we are reading in class.
**There is always a potential for a book change in the reading curriculum, advanced notice will be given**
All classes are full year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
