This course provides hands-on experiences with fingerspelling, classifiers and American Sign Language (ASL) numbers. Topics include expressive and receptive fingerspelling, classifiers, and ASL numbers techniques. This course will introduce the top 100 Signs and cover the basics of signs that can be used around the home and classroom. Coursework includes study topics integrated with expressive and receptive fingerspelling, classifiers, and ASL number techniques as well as basics in deaf culture. Students will each choose a children’s story and sign using classifiers and facial expression which will be presented as their final class project.
All classes are full year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
