Before there was America, there was England. And before England, Angleland. And before that, Lloegr. And before that, the empty void where the world would be created (okay, that’s too far back).

In Anglo-Saxon America history, we often forget that before 1630 AD, everything that happened in England is part of our story as well. Countless wars. Kings, Queens, tribes. Invasions.

For our class, we will travel back to when the Welsh were the rulers of what is now called Great Britain. We’ll explore the great leaders of the first centuries AD on the mainland; the invasion of the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes; how Romans conquered nearly the whole of England; the invasion of the French; and all the art, culture, food, and wonderful stories that came out of this great time.

This isn’t just English history, this is American history, too!

(any and all reading materials required will be available online on the Google classroom, all the students will need is a notebook and something with which to write).

We recommend taking the Simulation class along with this class. Simulations are a great way to experience what you learn in class in a more interactive way. In this once a month class, we will recreate historical and hypothetical events to engage students, learn from one another, and have an educational experience they will never forget. Planned simulations: Mayflower Voyage, Boston Tea Party, Declaration of Independence, American Revolution, Shay’s Rebellion, Constitutional Convention, and more!

All classes are full year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
