Everyone is an artist of some kind, and multimedia art can help with revealing the artist within! One of the best ways to encourage artistic development is through exposure to a wide variety of art mediums, as well as the exploration of various techniques and applications. Students will be introduced to the elements of art (line, shape, color, texture, value, form, space) and principles of design (balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, unity). These concepts are the foundation to understanding and executing all types of visual art. Students learn to apply the elements and principles in order to evaluate, analyze and interpret art through the ages, and to use the elements and principles in the creation of their own masterpieces.
∙ learn how to create colors using primary colors (red, yellow, blue), white and black and explore color relationships.
∙ gain the knowledge of gradations of colors which are used to create an illumination forming three– dimensionality.
∙ use technical approach to create the depth of field and three– dimensional design in painting.
∙ explore expression of ideas using different media and techniques. ∙ demonstrate knowledge of the basic elements and advance the skills.
All classes are full year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
