“Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” (Winston Churchill) Our lives are filled with idioms from those who have gone before-but are we listening? Let’s study history through quotes, culture and the people that created them. Why do humans create and destroy great civilizations? How can we become a citizen of the world? (Socrates) What can history teach us about preserving the American Experience? We will find all our answers in books, through research and during our weekly discussions. Our final project will be to create your own civilization
