Day & Time: Tuesday 11:55-1:05
Mentor: Wendy Christenson
Come join me for a Jr. Anatomy class where we will take a journey through our bodies from the inside out. We will discover how and why our body systems work the way they do. Students will discover how their voice box works, how many bones they have, how thousands of "tasters" on their tongues help them distinguish flavors, how the DNA in their cells is different from everyone else's, and so much more. Students will also learn about germs and nutrition to promote healthy living. Learning is always fun when you can relate it directly to your own life. Our class will also focus on all of the Body Systems too! (Digestive, Respiratory, Circulatory, and Nervous) Much of this learning will take place by doing fun hands on activities and crafts.
Each student must bring a 2-subject ruled notebook so they will be able to complete their interactive journal. We will be doing a lot of cutting and glueing, so if your child prefers to bring their own supplies, this is what they’ll need: *Glue Stick *Scissors *Crayons or Colored pencils or Twistables (whichever they prefer) (I will provide these also, but I know some students like to bring their own set)
Books: DK First Human Body Encyclopedia (we will use this daily in class)
All classes are full year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
