Nature Journaling

Location: Rocklin

Day & Time: Tuesday 9:30 - 10:40

Grade: 1st-2nd

Mentor: Amanda Colacurcio

Deep dive into the natural world and learn new ways to demonstrate learning on the page.

Each week, students will delve into a new form of translating information into art while we journal objects from nature together. We will explore flowers, rocks, seasonal items, and more before we move into the art of “nature journaling” our interests, passions, and adventures. No art experience necessary, just curiosity!

Textbooks I will be using: Julia Rothman’s Anatomy series and Wild + Free Nature Journaling.

We will go through a variety of sketching and lettering styles, as well as learn to perform data analysis and journal seasonal objects in class. Eventually, we will move past nature to apply what we’ve learned to other interests and experiences.

Students do not need to provide anything for this class.

All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
