Playing with Music 1st-2nd.
Day & Time: Wednesday 10:15-11:25
Mentor: John Sandoval
“Playing with Music” brings children and music together through fun activities.
Music ignites all areas of childhood development and skills for social readiness, including intellectual, emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. Music helps the body and the mind work together. Studies have shown that exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words.
This class is designed to encourage students’ interest in music and introduce them to the magical world of music. Classes will primarily consist of various musical activities for young children, including: singing, rhythm and movement, and basic percussion exercises such as hand-clapping and foot-tapping.
This class focuses on the exploration, foundation, and creativity related to music. All materials will be provided. Children will be asked to perform light physical activities such as dancing. Class participation is required.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
