Day & Time: Wednesday 1:45-2:55

Grade: 7th-9th

Mentor: Ruth Hinds

Welcome to your journey around the world and back in time. In this two-semester class, you’ll receive your passport to take you to ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Asia, and Mesoamerica. As your travel guide, Mrs. Hinds will bring you to famous landmarks and discuss exciting historical events. She will lead you through timeworn streets and share the people's culture, food, clothing, religion, and everyday life. Together we will experience their science, art, government, and get to know their great leaders and thinkers. We’ll discuss how these ancient civilizations impact our lives today.

This is a hands-on project and activity-based class. We will fill the ‘luggage’ from each 4-6 week trip with projects, postcards, and creative writing. As we finish each excursion, the young travelers will bring home their luggage full of trip mementos to share their experiences with family and to use as samples for their charter school.

Join us on our year-long trip to the fascinating Ancient World!

All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
