Readers’ Theater is a fun way for young kids to build reading fluency and become confident, happy readers!
This is an entertaining and interactive class! Throughout the year, we will work on our reading skills as we choose different plays, folktales, short stories, and poems from familiar literature to present as a class. Students will work off scripts for shared reading, partner reading, and small group work. We will use these scripts to help with repetitive text and sight words, making it easier for beginning readers. While we have fun reading different scripts, we will also learn the art of inflection. This is a great skill to have while reading and can help bring the stories to life!
Students will also have the opportunity to take a classic story and create their script for it. This is a great class to encourage creativity, memorization, reading skills, and confidence!
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
