This is not your average social science class. Rather than just stumbling through history, we will explore more of the psychology of social studies: why do people behave the way they do? How does perception change a person’s beliefs and actions? Why do different cultures possess different values? How does speaking/reading/writing a specific language affect the way we think? All these questions and more we will try to answer throughout this class!
Much of the work for this class will revolve around reading, discussion, writing, and social experiments. I want students to feel like they get real world experience considering what it is that makes us human, especially when we come together to form communities.
Required readings TBD
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
