Day & Time: Friday 10:00-10:55 (Pacific)
Mentor: Missie Shimizu
A small town named after an English king was the starting point of the story that became the United States of America! Join us to discover America’s colonial roots, its rebels with a cause, the War Between the States and the prosperity that freedom brings with the Industrial Revolution. We will also discuss how America became entangled in world events along with the struggles of internal strife amongst its own people. We will use various historical movies and novels to illustrate the story of America as well as lecture, pictures and class discussions. In addition, we will complete one lapbook per semester and various projects. This is a yearlong class. Fall Semester will cover Pre-Colonial through the Civil War. Spring Semester will cover the post-Civil War through the end of the 20th century.
All classes are full year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
