This class is all about the various ways in which writing is part of our everyday lives. From work to school to personal, there are so many opportunities we have to write. Whether emails or stories or journaling, writing is a part of who we are and what separates us from the animals.

Throughout the class, we will address several different types and styles of writing, such as: journaling, storytelling, creative nonfiction, emails, online and digital communication, essays, articles, and poetry. We will spend the majority of class talking about writing and doing short writing assignments. There will be readings and homework as well for students to go more in depth with the subjects discussed as well as giving them opportunities to practice techniques.

My goal is to help students see that writing isn’t just something that they have to do for school: writing is an important part of life. Writing is how we communicate with others. And writing can be fun!

I utilize Google Classroom for all assignments, communications, online discussions, and updates, so students need a personal Gmail account.  This makes it easy to refer to for homeschool teacher meetings, assignment details, due dates, and grades.

All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
