Day & Time: Monday 9:30-10:30
Mentor: Leah Florence
"Art is like light" as a famous composer once said "Everybody knows what it is, but few can tell you what it is." In this Art History class we will be traveling across the globe, across time and across cultures as we search for the answer to that question "what is art?" Students will be learning not only how varied art can be but why that is significant in learning about other times and cultures. We will be using the textbook "Discovering Art History" by Gerald F. Brommer which will smartly guide your child into a deeper understanding of art making and analyzing. This book is available used online. The goal for this class will be to challenge students' minds into a more expansive understanding of what art is, why it is significant and how it can tell a richer story of our human experience.
All classes are full year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
