The greatest skill anyone can have in life is the ability to think for him-or herself. Being able to see a situation, analyze it, examine its individual parts, and make decisions based on that analysis. That is exactly what we are exploring with Critical Thinking and Philosophy!
This class is founded on socratic discussion, which will require students to complete several readings before class and come prepared to discuss what they read with their fellow students. All of what we read and discuss will focus on how we can apply what we learn to modern situations.
We will cover a variety of philosophical subjects:
ancient philosophers
epistemology
ethics
logic
metaphysics
Through the readings and discussions in this class, students will gain a better understanding of the world and themselves, as well as how to better navigate the complexities of our modern society.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
