Drawing and Design Studio
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of drawing and explore the endless possibilities of their imaginations. Designed to complement courses such as Captivating Characters, Folklore & Mythology, and Legendary Lands, this class encourages students to connect visual art with storytelling, mythology, character design, and imaginative worldbuilding.
Outcomes:
Throughout the year, we will study an assortment of techniques, ranging from basic and foundational, to more advanced and complex. These will not only help to improve each student’s skills but also their confidence to imagine and create.
Students will also be encouraged to come alongside and help support each other by learning to collaborate with their fellow artists. We will explore subjects like character design, world building, and visual storytelling. By the end of the year, each artist will have the skills and tools necessary to create entire worlds of the imagination.
Class Activities:
We will experiment with a variety of different tools, from black and white mediums like graphite, charcoal, and ink to more colorful ones such as colored pencils, pastels, and markers.
Materials:
All materials will be provided, with each student receiving their own personal sketchbook (which they will be able to personalize as they wish).
***This class is intended to be taken with Folklore and Mythology, Legendary Lands, and Captivating Characters***
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
