In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of drawing and the endless possibilities of imagination. We will experiment with a variety of different tools, from black and white mediums like graphite, charcoal, and ink to more colorful ones such as colored pencils, pastels, and markers. Students will learn to pull inspiration not only from other famous artists and artworks but also from the world around us. Throughout the year, we will also be studying an assortment of techniques, ranging from basic and foundational to more advanced and complex. These will not only help to improve each student’s skills but also their confidence to imagine and create. Towards the end of each class, students will be encouraged to participate in constructive discussions. This will allow each of them the opportunity to share and critique each other's artworks, bringing the students alongside one another as they learn and grow.
All materials needed for class will be provided, with each student receiving their own personal sketchbook, which we will decorate and personalize!
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
