A Little Bit of Everything
This joyful, hands-on class introduces students to a variety of subjects including science, art, writing, history, and math through engaging, student-centered activities. Each week offers new themes and experiences such as space, rainforests, Earth layers, life cycles, and more, explored through crafts, experiments, storytelling, and creative projects.
Students will also participate in interactive math and word games such as “Lightning Math” and “Delicious Math,” designed to make learning active, engaging, and fun. Writing and spelling skills are reinforced through movement-based and collaborative games that build confidence and teamwork.
Throughout the year, students will also engage in imaginative group play experiences such as creating shared environments like a vet office or grocery store. These activities support communication, problem-solving, creativity, and cooperative learning.
Character development and kindness are central to the class. Students will practice encouragement, teamwork, respectful communication, and thoughtful feedback while learning and growing together. Special classroom visits from animals and other creatures will also provide opportunities for observation, curiosity, and scientific thinking.
Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will develop greater confidence in learning across multiple subjects, strengthen collaboration and communication skills, and build a positive foundation for academic and social growth. Students are expected to participate actively, work cooperatively, and contribute to a kind and supportive classroom community.
Class Activities:
Hands-on science and art projects, interactive math and literacy games, group imaginative play, collaborative activities, storytelling, and occasional student sharing and presentations.
Materials:
Students will need a 1-inch binder (any color) with a clear front cover, a backpack large enough to carry their binder, a water bottle, and a lunch or snack.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
