Animals in Art

This class explores how animals are represented in historic artworks and illustrated literature. Students will study different artistic styles and use them as inspiration for their own weekly projects. They will experiment with a variety of media, including watercolor, ink, paint, collage, and sculpture, while learning to observe, simplify, and stylize animal forms.

Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will be able to observe animal forms more closely, use a variety of art techniques, and create original artwork with confidence. Students will develop creativity, attention to detail, and artistic expression while participating actively in class projects.

Class Activities:
Weekly art projects, guided drawing and observation activities, and hands-on experimentation with multiple art materials.

Materials:
All materials will be provided.

All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
