Culinary Science

In this engaging, hands-on course, students will explore the fascinating intersection of science and the culinary arts. From mastering basic cooking techniques to understanding the chemistry behind what makes food taste great, students will gain both practical skills and scientific knowledge. Topics include food safety and sanitation, nutrition, chemical reactions in cooking, baking science, flavor profiles, kitchen tools and techniques, and culinary innovation. Students will participate in cooking labs, experiments, and recipe development while learning to work safely and effectively in a kitchen environment. Whether students are aspiring chefs or just love to eat and create, this course offers a deeper appreciation for the science of food.

 

All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
