IEW Writing & Composition
 
The Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) is an award-winning curriculum that has proven to be effective for reluctant, eager, beginning, and advanced writers. Interactive class activities, will help your child master the structure and style techniques taught throughout the year. Class topics will include vocabulary, note-taking, summarizing, outlining, paragraph formation, essay construction, grammar, mechanics, usage, style techniques, literary elements, and more! There will be weekly homework. Individualized feedback will be given on assignments and students will have opportunities to present their writing in class. 
 
*Prerequisite: Students must be able to write multiple sentences. 
 
Required Materials: 
• 3rd - 4th grade - Discoveries in Writing
• Binder Paper 
• Writing Utensils (pencil w/ eraser, colored pen, highlighter) 
 
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
