Nature, Art, & Journaling
This class provides students with a purposeful pause in their day—a structured space to slow down, reflect, and reset. Through guided discussion, reflective journaling, and nature-inspired art activities, students will develop skills that support focus, emotional awareness, and personal growth. Emphasis is placed on processing thoughts in meaningful ways, reducing mental overwhelm, and building habits that support clarity and attention across all areas of learning.
Students will also have optional opportunities to share reflections and creative projects with the class. These presentations are designed to be low-pressure and supportive, with guidance provided to help students communicate ideas clearly and confidently. Over time, students are encouraged to grow in comfort with sharing their work in a supportive environment.
Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will develop greater self-awareness, stronger reflective thinking skills, and increased confidence in expressing ideas. Students will build healthy habits for processing thoughts and experiences, improve focus and emotional regulation, and strengthen communication skills through optional sharing and presentation opportunities. Students are expected to participate respectfully, engage in journaling and reflection activities, and approach the class with openness.
Class Activities:
Guided journaling, reflective writing, discussion prompts, nature-inspired art activities, optional presentations, and personal reflection exercises.
Materials:
Students will need a personal journal (approximately 8x10 size; dot grid or bullet journal style preferred but not required), a 1-inch binder with a clear front sleeve, a backpack, and a water bottle.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
