Maker’s Workshop
This hands-on class introduces students to working with a variety of materials, including wood, leather, fabric, and mixed media. Students will complete projects such as small woodworking builds, leather goods, textile items, and creative art pieces. Skills taught include measuring, cutting, assembling, stitching, finishing, and safe tool use. Students will also learn basic design and planning as they create both guided projects and a final project of their own design.
Outcomes:
Students will develop confidence in working with different materials, safely use tools, and complete multi-step projects with attention to detail. They will build problem-solving skills, practice design planning, and take ownership of their work from start to finish.
Class Activities:
Woodworking projects (boxes, shelves, or small builds)
Leather crafting (wallets, keychains, or accessories)
Sewing or textile projects
Mixed media art (resin, clay, or painting)
Design sketches and a final independent project
Materials:
Materials and tools will be provided. Students should wear closed-toe shoes and clothing appropriate for hands-on work.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
