Photography
This class introduces students to the fundamental techniques of photography, including composition, lighting, and capturing visually engaging images. Students will learn through hands-on practice and guided assignments, along with basic photo editing using Lightroom.Students who have taken the class before will help reinforce and strengthen core photography techniques while continuing to build their skills. Returning students will also learn new, more advanced skills, including how to use a DSLR camera, along with more intentional use of natural and artificial lighting, improved composition, and more refined editing practices.
Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will be able to take well-composed, intentional photographs and use basic editing tools to enhance their work. Returning students will gain confidence using a DSLR camera, strengthen their technical skills, and develop a more intentional and creative photography style. All students are expected to participate actively, complete assignments thoughtfully, and build a personal portfolio of work.

Returning students will also support peer learning by reinforcing photography techniques while continuing to expand their own skills.
Materials:
Students will need a phone camera or a DSLR camera. They will also need access to the Google Classroom to submit assignments and have the free Lightroom app downloaded on their device.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
