Buckle up for a wild ride through the epic story of the United States—from ancient Indigenous civilizations to today’s headlines. We’ll uncover the people, ideas, conflicts, and movements that shaped America into what it is now—and wrestle with how the past still echoes in our world today.

This isn’t just memorizing dates and names. You’ll dig deep into primary sources (hello, historical tea!), analyze big-picture trends, and build your own arguments like a true historian. Along the way, you’ll debate major issues, explore untold stories, and discover that U.S. history is anything but boring.

What You'll Do

  • Dive into Indigenous cultures, colonization, and the birth of the United States

  • Follow the drama of the American Revolution, Constitutional debates, and sectional tensions

  • Analyze the Civil War, Reconstruction, and the rise of modern America

  • Explore industrialization, immigration, urban life, and U.S. power on the world stage

  • Trace the fight for civil rights and examine modern movements and milestones

What You'll Learn

By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

  • Break down the big moments, movements, and turning points in U.S. history

  • Analyze documents, maps, political cartoons, and more like a pro

  • Build smart, evidence-based arguments in writing and debate

  • Think historically—comparing, connecting, and asking the right questions

  • Understand how different voices and communities shaped America

  • Evaluate how the past still shapes the present—and why it matters

Skills You’ll Sharpen

  • Critical reading & smart writing

  • Debate and discussion

  • Research & collaboration

  • Seeing history from multiple angles

The Big Idea:
U.S. History is more than a timeline—it’s a story of struggle, change, and possibility. This course helps you see where we’ve been, how we got here, and where we might be going next.
