Yearbook: Student-Driven Media & Publication Design
In this student-led Yearbook class, students take on roles as designers, photographers, writers, and editors to create the Love of Learning yearbook. Students will learn the fundamentals of yearbook production, including theme development, layout design, photography, caption and headline writing, and basic desktop publishing.
This class is highly collaborative and project-based, with students making creative and editorial decisions while receiving guidance and support. Students will also learn to manage deadlines, organize content, and use digital tools to design and publish a cohesive, professional-quality yearbook.
Outcomes:
Students will develop skills in teamwork, communication, organization, and time management. They will gain experience in digital design and media production while learning how to meet deadlines and take responsibility for a large-scale publication. Students will also build confidence in creative decision-making and collaborative problem-solving.

Developing a yearbook theme and visual style
Designing layouts and page spreads
Writing captions, headlines, and content
Digital photography and photo selection
Editing and revising pages
Managing deadlines and publication workflow
Advertising and promoting the yearbook
Materials:
Students are required to bring a laptop to every class. They will be required to log in to treering.com in every class.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
