Movies are great, we all love watching them. But they are so much more than just fun pictures we use to escape reality for a few hours. They are pieces of Art. They are pieces of History. They are complex stories filled with beauty and emotion. They are collections of culture and time. In this class, we’ll dive into the history of film making, its terminology and processes, and learn the tricks of the trade with the students writing a screenplay!
Topics we will discuss will include:
- History of photography and film
- Genres
- Cinematography
- Editing
- Shot Composition
- Acting
- Music & Sound
Students will also have the opportunity to work together as a class to create their own movie in (and out) of class.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
