Welcome to Geometry!
I love math, and I want students to love math too! My goal is for students to gain a better understanding of how math affects all we do in our lives, and the skills in tools we learn in this class are applicable in any subject.
Geometry is designed to prepare students for higher level math classes, such as Algebra II, through exploring the properties, relationships, and applications of points, lines, planes, and shapes in two and three dimensions. Students will investigate geometric concepts through reasoning, problem-solving, and real-world application.
Topics covered include:
logic and proofs
congruence and similarity
parallel and perpendicular lines
2D and 3D shapes configuration
area and volume
transformations on the coordinate plane
This course emphasizes critical thinking and precision, with a strong focus on deductive and inductive reasoning, geometric constructions, and the use of basic algebraic techniques within geometric contexts.
***All lessons will be accompanied by in-class worksheets and practice problems done together***
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
