High School Math Foundations

I love teaching math and want to help my students see how much fun math can be!

Outcomes:

In this class we will be focusing on the key Algebra 1 and Geometry concepts students need to know for higher level math classes. Throughout the school year, we will be working on expressions, equations, factoring, graphing, transformations, angle relationships, area, volume, and so much more. I will be incorporating some hands-on activities, games, algebra tiles, STEM activities, and logic puzzles into the class to make the math concepts more engaging.

Class Activities:

The majority of the activities will be completed in class, but occasionally practice worksheets and online resources may be sent home to reinforce the skills covered in class. Although this class will not replace your homeschool math curriculum, the students will gain a better understanding of math concepts to help them be more successful in math, and even enjoy it!

Materials:

Bring a pencil, dry erase marker, highlighter, and a folder or binder to class every day.  Students may need a protractor, compass, and scientific calculator for some classes so activities have those available when needed.

All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
