IEW Level B Year 2
IEW is a well-respected writing course focussed on teaching students the fundamentals of writing through guided practice.
Outcomes:
This course takes away the fear of writing and what to write by teaching students both style and structure through imitation. By the end of this course, students will feel more confident and capable as writers than ever before.
Class Activities:
Students begin by analyzing and imitating existing good writing. Then through a series of incremental steps, they develop the ability to write their own original compositions. Each week students will be assigned homework that is incrementally more difficult as they learn concepts in class.
Materials:
Students must be ready to write in class by bringing a pen and paper to class each week. Curriculum binder will be provided by the teacher in the first week. This binder must be brought to class every week.
**This is the second year in a 2 year writing course. As such, it is strongly recommended that students entering this course have attended IEW Level B Year 1. **
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
