Kitchen Confidence
This interactive class introduces students to the basics of kitchen safety, food preparation, and simple cooking skills. Students will learn how to follow recipes, measure ingredients, use kitchen tools properly, and prepare age-appropriate dishes. Instruction will also emphasize kitchen safety, teamwork, and building independence through hands-on cooking experiences.
Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will be able to safely follow simple recipes, use basic kitchen tools, and prepare a variety of snacks and simple meals. Students will build confidence in the kitchen, develop responsibility, and gain an appreciation for cooking and food preparation.
Class Activities:
Hands-on cooking activities, recipe following, food preparation practice, and group kitchen tasks, including assembling snacks and making simple meals and treats.
Materials:
All materials will be provided.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
