Let’s Create

 

Let’s Create is a project-based course designed to inspire creativity, innovation, and artistic confidence through hands-on, in-depth projects. Students will explore a variety of creative disciplines, including visual arts, design, storytelling, mixed media, collaborative creation, and creative problem-solving. The course emphasizes imagination, experimentation, and personal expression while encouraging students to develop original works that connect to real-world ideas, culture, history, and personal experiences. Through the artistic processes of creating, presenting, responding, and connecting, students will build communication skills, critical-thinking abilities, collaborative techniques, and creative resilience. The course aligns with the California Arts Standards and incorporates social-emotional learning through reflection, teamwork, self-awareness, and constructive feedback.

 

Outcomes:

By the end of this course, students will:

  • develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills through project-based learning

  • apply the artistic processes of creating, presenting/producing, responding, and connecting

  • demonstrate growth in collaboration, communication, and self-expression

  • create original works using a variety of artistic media and techniques

  • analyze and reflect on artistic choices and creative growth

  • explore connections between art, culture, history, and personal experience

  • build perseverance, adaptability, and confidence through revision and experimentation

  • present completed projects to peers and participate in constructive critique and discussion

  • strengthen social-emotional skills, including self-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making

 

Activities:

Students will participate in a wide variety of creative experiences, including collaborative art challenges, mixed media projects, visual design work, creative storytelling, sculpture, hands-on construction projects, and thematic artistic investigations. Activities may include individual and group projects, studio work, design thinking exercises, presentations, critiques, reflective journaling, multimedia production, and creative exhibitions.  Students will engage in both structured and open-ended projects that encourage innovation, experimentation, and the development of personal artistic voice.

 

Materials:

Materials and supplies will be provided for all course projects and activities.

  • April 23rd


All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
