Music Appreciation

One thing I love about music is that it connects me to people through time and space even though I can't sing or play a single note. Music Appreciation is a class for all types of students interested in music: natural performers, behind-the-scenes warriors, and radio-listeners, too. We will look into lesser-known careers in the music business, learn the history of music and recognize trends, and touch on famous creators and genres.

Outcomes:

Throughout the year, students will study the impact of music on the human experience and create projects that express their love of music in other forms like painting, writing, collages and more. Bring your enthusiasm for this class (leave the instruments at home), as we dive into one of the most creative and diverse subjects the world has to offer.

No musical experience needed!

Class Activities:

Discussion, hands-on art projects, and listening to music.

Materials:

All materials will be provided.

All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
