One of my greatest passions as a writer is paper! As a published author for over 14 years, paper as an object for stories and poems has fascinated me. For our class, we will study the various histories and cultures surrounding paper, its functional and artistic uses, how mixed media art came to be, all while creating vibrant and intriguing pieces of art!
This class would introduce mixed media art and design, as well as recycled paper making and upcycled art projects.
Topics we will cover:
paper, its history, function, and how it has shaped our world
variety of paper projects (incorporating aspects of Engineering and Construction)
collage
paper making and decorating
assemblage art using recycled materials and more
Students will also learn about professional artists who work with these mediums. This will excite and inspire students to create their own masterpieces through the exciting process of mixed media artmaking.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
