Write Now: Grammar and Handwriting
Welcome to Write Now!, a fabulous class all about handwriting and grammar. We will use the Write Now program to help students learn:
how to write lowercase and capitals with help from funny story characters like
how to connect tricky letters
to translate print to cursive
to self correct their work
grammar
vocabulary
some Latin and Greek Roots
All students will be given the opportunity to speak aloud to the class, and practice reading other’s cursive writing as we journey through our lessons.
Outcomes:
Throughout the year, students learn how to write fast, neat cursive sentences, paragraphs, poetry, story notes, and thank yous. Writing starts with forming letters and copy work. Short lists of vocabulary are provided in the workbook. An example of each letter is shown in the notebook.
Class Activities:
We will start each class with writing warms ups, practicing cursive, listening to others, and completing grammar worksheets. We will also play grammar games, practice expanding sentences, and learn vocabulary.
The only work at home for students will be to write neatly in their journal: copy work of well written sentences, quotes, poems, tongue twisters, as well as their own journal entries. Students may start with printing and transition to cursive writing.
Students will participate and be helpful for their classmates, with the expectation students will be kind and cooperative.

All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
