Students in the Yearbook class, aka: Yearbook Squad, are the leaders and decision-makers of the yearbook staff at Love of Learning.  This is a completely student driven class with guidance and support from me.

Students will learn basic principles of yearbook production, develop skills which include: writing copy, captions and headlines, digital photography, desktop publishing and using appropriate technology tools for media production.  The following list is a sampling of what students will do in this class:

  • Develop a theme
  • Design cover
  • Create master designs
  • Create a workable ladder
  • Set up type specs and graphic elements
  • Determine story ideas
  • Determine photo ideas
  • Set up story and photo assignments
  • Organize sale and distribution of book
  • Advertise and promote
  • Establish and meet publication deadlines
  • Edit pages

Students are required to bring a laptop, ipad, or tablet to each class.

I utilize Google Classroom for all assignments, communications, online discussions, and updates so students will need a personal gmail account.  This makes it easy to refer to for homeschool teacher meetings, assignment details and due dates, and grades.

“ What is memorized is easily forgotten, what is understood is never forgotten.”  ~Dr. Adler

All classes are full year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
